Google Drive Now Lets You Comment on MS Office Docs
The most recent refresh update to the Google Drive collaboration tool now implies that you can comment on files made in Microsoft Office, similarly, as you would in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides without opening any third-party app.
Before this update, Google users who wanted to modify Microsoft Office documents in any capacity would need to either, convert the file, use a third-party app, or use Office Compatibility Mode. Now, with the support of commenting, whatever you leave on the Word document or PowerPoint presentation, or by mentioning the users involved in the editing process, the tags will be displayed in the same document when opened in Office 365.
In fact, to edit or otherwise permanently replace the office suite files you are working, the above-mentioned workspaces are required, but Google’s changes make it easy to provide comments and address concerns before editing. But if you are writing something which just needs the eyes of a second group, or is reviewing a contract or contract between you and a customer, then easily bring the software suite offering Google Drive suggestions One step closer to uninterrupted interoperability with Microsoft Office.
